Prince

PrinceThis is the second of a commissioned set that was delayed because I ran out of the lovely purple. Thankfully it arrived a few days later and I was a’ weaving. This whip features the double thick handle and the progressive thinning technique of the originals. I have since shifted the means by which I make whips that is thinner but no less sturdy, as seen in the Russian.

This whip has another crocodile plait loop leading into something different. This is a Flores knot, essentially a 5×4 turk’s head interwoven into a 5×6 turk’s head. The latter is doubled and leads to a compact semi-spherical  knot at the end that feels almost molded for the palm. The end is a snake hitch (I really like that one) with a fixed end.
