What can I say about this? Being contacted by a friend whom I have not been in contact with for a while suddenly sent me a message with, well, a challenge. To protect my friends identity, I am gonna call the individual Nell for no other reason than I liked the movie and it has nothing to do with the individual at all. So, Nell asked me for a rainbow whip, but continued to describe it with words like ‘obnoxious’ and ‘glaring.’ I suggested neon colors of the rainbow, but when given the chance to think about it, after Green, the neon colors aren’t very bright. Rather, they are vivid in their darkness. So, I cut back from a possible 7 or 8 to a core of 4 neon colors; being red, yellow, blue, and green. The colors in my inventory that would fit would be the Neon Pink, Neon Yellow, Neon Turquoise, and, on the edge of the garious spectrum, Neon Green.
I have to say, working with these colors in a light/dark configuration, I wanted to have a pattern in the length of the whip but break the expected pattern in the knot. It is a type 2 pineapple knot, with two passes, but of each color. No single color has a double run through the knot. I think it looks cool, but even cooler under black lights. Sorry, no photos of that as yet for this 3 foot snake.
I am also trying something different with the whip photos. I got a light box the other day and figured I would try the floating-object effect. Now, there is nothing but the whip to concentrate on in the photo.
